A Royal Affair

With barely a month to go until Kate Middleton weds Prince William everyones talking about the bride to be, what she'll wear, who she'll wear and of course what about the hair.

The lovely Kate will of course look fantastic whatever she wears but with a nation watching, royal in-laws to keep happy and traditions to follow you can be sure that she'll look immaculate.

Here are a few suggestions for Kate (she of course reads our blog religiously, we wish)

With hair as thick and healthy as Miss Middleton's I think she should show it off to it's very best. Kate's hair always looks fantastic with volume, a bouncy wave and deep shine, I'd recommend a 40's inspired curl to frame her face and trail across her shoulders and back.

I love the tousled effect on this fantastic style but for Kate I'd reccomend some more styling and more height, I bet she'll have a huge tiara to support, lucky girl!

To acheive the look on the left, start with day old hair (this is hair washed the day before, ideally treated with a deep conditioning treatment) Plug in some heated rollers and while they're warming apply a thermal protection spray and apply a gloss serum or spray to your hair and decide where to wear your fringe, section away from the rest.

Wind your rollers back away from your face starting from the centre, use the smaller rollers towards the bottom to acheive volume. Spray with hairspray. Leave for 20 minutes or until cool

Carefully unwind the rollers taking care not to pull them out so you don't damage the curl, shake the curls gently with your fingertips and position, you may need to brush some sections gently to smooth (don't use a comb, you will seperate the curl). Take down your fringe and use straighteners to curve the fringe across your face and to the side. Secure with a grip.
Apply gloss and hairspray and voila!
I love this 40's inspired do and would love to see a version in Kate's lovely long locks with a demure fringe across the eye.

To achieve this look set your hair with the heated rollers exactly as before but this time include your fringe. When the rollers have curled use a stiff bristled brush sprayed with a gloss spray and hairspray and gently tease out the curl. Place the brush underneath the curl and place your hand on top of the curl and gently brush out whilst smoothing into shape with your hand.

Gorgeous!!!
